Traveling Site Manager

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Traveling Site Manager to lead construction and startup execution, site personnel, contractors, craft labor, and project stakeholders for major infrastructure and industrial projects.

Project Details

The company supports construction work across power, water, grid, and industrial markets. The role may involve construction sites, offices, outdoor work, elevated areas, confined spaces, and changing weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall site construction, startup, commissioning, testing, quality, safety, materials, and project controls activities.
• Maintain and update the Construction Execution Plan and site-specific procedures.
• Coordinate owners, project managers, suppliers, subcontractors, craft labor, and commissioning teams.
• Monitor construction budget, schedule, quality, change orders, payments, and contract closeout.
• Lead the site management team, establish staffing needs, mentor personnel, and support continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives.
• Implement safety, loss-control, quality assurance, and construction process requirements.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of experience on similar construction projects, including at least 3 years as a Site Manager.
• Applicants without a degree must have at least 15 years of experience, including 5 years in construction management on smaller projects or 3 years as a Site Manager.
• Ability to complete applicable background, drug-screen, and motor-vehicle-record checks.
• Ability to perform physical site work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, walking uneven terrain, and working in confined or elevated areas.
