Job Summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a Substation Foreman in Lytle, Texas, to supervise craft crews performing high-voltage substation construction, installation, testing, maintenance, and related civil work.

Project Details

The role supports substation work involving electrical systems, controls, wiring, equipment, concrete, rebar, forms, embeds, anchor bolts, and finished-grade layout.

Responsibilities

• Direct crew activities and coordinate work with other crafts and project supervision.
• Plan daily tasks, one-week schedules, crew goals, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Lead pre-job safety planning, toolbox meetings, hazard controls, lockout/tagout compliance, and incident reporting.
• Inspect work for compliance with plans, specifications, codes, quality requirements, and industry standards.
• Review timecards, track quantities and productivity, complete equipment inspections, and conduct craft performance reviews.
• Train crew members in safe work practices and provide on-the-job instruction.

Required Experience

• Working experience as a substation journeyman or equivalent industrial construction experience.
• Knowledge of substation components, high-voltage electrical and civil standards, layout instruments, forms, rebar, concrete, testing, maintenance, and repair.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Required crane-operation certification may include NCCCO or CIC; listed craft credentials include NCCER Electrician, Carpenter, Concrete Finisher, Heavy Equipment Operations, and Rigging.
• Ability to work safely at height, in confined areas, and in varying weather conditions while lifting up to 50 pounds.
