Project Manager - Power Generation

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Manager to lead power-generation capital improvement projects and serve as an Owner’s Engineer for clients across the project lifecycle.

Project Details

The portfolio includes combined-cycle, simple-cycle, combined heat and power, boiler, greenfield, brownfield, and plant-expansion projects supporting conventional and sustainable power generation.

Responsibilities

• Direct project teams and client stakeholders from development and design through construction, startup, and commissioning.
• Provide or coordinate design reviews, feasibility studies, energy production estimates, cost estimates, construction support, testing, and commissioning services.
• Oversee EPC contractors and manage internal and external coordination.
• Act as the primary client contact and support proposals, specifications, RFPs, bid evaluations, and business development.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 12 or more years of relevant power-generation industry experience, including simple-cycle, combined-cycle, combined heat and power, or boiler projects.
• At least 7 years of project management experience with full responsibility for project outcomes.
• Strong understanding of capital-project development, design, construction, startup, and commissioning.
• PE, P.Eng, or an equivalent professional license is preferred.
