Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Support Electrical Engineer to contribute to battery energy storage system and power-sector engineering work. The role supports technical deliverables, design development, equipment evaluations, calculations, and coordination with project teams and clients.

Project Details

The Technology, Commercial & Industrial team delivers engineering, procurement, and construction services for substations, renewables integration, HVDC and FACTS systems, data center integration, and BESS projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare increasingly complex engineering documents, calculations, equipment studies, and material recommendations.
• Manage technical data while meeting project budget, schedule, quality, and applicable code requirements.
• Coordinate with project leadership, internal disciplines, external stakeholders, and clients.
• Support business development efforts and share knowledge of current engineering technologies and processes.
• Guide entry-level engineers and interns and contribute to mentoring and performance development.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• At least one year of related professional experience.
• EIT certification and progress toward a Professional Engineer license are preferred.
• Consulting and EPC execution experience are preferred, with BESS experience especially relevant.
• Experience with SKM, ETAP, or comparable power system analysis software is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
