Sr. Project Manager Industrial Manufacturing

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is hiring a Senior Project Manager to lead medium-to-large engineering, procurement, and construction projects within its growing Industrial Manufacturing business. The role is based in Overland Park, Kansas, and carries full accountability for project safety, cost, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction.

Project Details

Project work spans the manufacturing, ag/bio-process, semiconductor, and food & beverage industries, covering detailed design through construction administration on EPC and design-build initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of multi-discipline EPC and design-build projects from schematic design through construction administration.
• Partner with sales on pursuit activities, including proposal strategy, staffing plans, schedules, and commercial assumptions.
• Build and maintain trusted client relationships, identifying opportunities for expanded scope and repeat work.
• Manage project financial forecasting, change management, and monthly project reviews presented to leadership.
• Coordinate and integrate engineering, procurement, construction, and startup teams, including third-party contributors.
• Mentor junior project managers and team members, sharing lessons learned and execution strategies.
• Negotiate with executive-level client stakeholders and communicate opportunity status and risks to internal teams.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 9+ years of relevant experience in Industrial Manufacturing; semiconductor or food & beverage background preferred.
• Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience managing invoicing, internal and external costs, and project profitability.
• Proficiency developing detailed project schedules, preferably in P6 or MS Project.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain executive-level client relationships.

Compensation and Benefits

$146,530–$323,890 annual salary range, performance-based bonus eligibility, and relocation assistance available.
