Site Crane and Rigging Superintendent

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Site Crane and Rigging Superintendent to lead safe, compliant, and effective crane and rigging operations at a construction project in Newnan. The position serves as the primary site authority for lifting activities and coordinates closely with project teams and corporate crane and rigging leadership.

Overland Contracting supports construction work across power, water, grid, and industrial markets.

Responsibilities

• Manage required crane inspections, documentation, deficiency correction, and equipment removal when unsafe conditions are identified.
• Act as Lift Director for critical lifts, reviewing lift plans, rigging configurations, load calculations, and pre-lift controls.
• Oversee rigger competency evaluations, assignments, coaching, and retraining.
• Coordinate inspections, certifications, lift plans, and evaluations with corporate crane and rigging leadership.
• Serve as the accountability point between project management, site supervision, crane crews, and corporate teams.
• Stop unsafe or non-compliant operations and require changes to plans, methods, or assignments.

Required Experience

• At least five years of construction field leadership experience on comparable projects.
• Valid driver's license.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Preferred background includes construction management or engineering education, crane and rigging experience, lift planning, risk assessment, supervisory skills, and knowledge of construction standards.
• Must be able to complete applicable pre-employment background, drug screening, and motor vehicle record requirements.
