Senior I&C Engineer

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior I&C Engineer to lead instrumentation, controls, automation, and SCADA engineering work for water and wastewater utility clients in Florida. The position combines technical leadership, project management, client coordination, and business development.

Project Details

Projects support water and industrial water infrastructure, ranging from community improvements to large multidisciplinary programs. The role serves clients across the Orlando, Miami, Fort Myers, and Tampa areas.

Responsibilities

• Lead I&C design projects and coordinate engineering activities across multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage planning, design, marketing, and construction-phase services for automation, instrumentation, controls, and SCADA projects.
• Represent the local design team in client and contractor meetings, field investigations, and factory acceptance testing.
• Help resolve design and construction issues while monitoring project schedules and budgets.
• Support proposals, presentations, business development, and client relationships.
• Supervise staff and handle related hiring, discipline, and pay administration responsibilities.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• At least 11 years of related professional experience.
• Four years of instrumentation, controls, and automation design consulting experience.
• Four years of water or wastewater industry experience.
• Two years of project management and business development experience.
• Florida Professional Engineering licensure, or the ability to obtain it, and active engineering registration or licensure supporting engineer-of-record responsibilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication, management capability, I&C design experience, and broad technical knowledge.
