Safety & Health Manager - Data Centers - TX

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a mid-level Safety & Health Manager to lead safety and health compliance for a larger, moderately complex data center construction project in Texas. The position may supervise other safety professionals and serves as a key liaison with project teams, clients, and regulators.

Project Details

The role supports construction activities for data center projects in Glen Rose, Texas, within a demanding jobsite environment that may include outdoor exposure, elevated work, confined areas, hazardous equipment, and extended shifts.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain project safety, health, substance abuse, security, workers' compensation, and documentation programs.
• Deliver employee training, perform site inspections, and investigate incidents and injuries.
• Prepare detailed reports and required safety and health records.
• Coordinate with clients, government officials, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Provide safety and health consultation, first aid or medical support when required, and continuous improvement leadership.
• Supervise, train, develop, and evaluate assigned safety staff and interns.

Required Experience

• At least five years of safety and health experience.
• Three or more years in a construction environment preferred.
• Safety and health certification and a bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent also preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety standards, substance abuse programs, workers' compensation, contract administration, incident reporting, and regulatory interactions.
• Strong communication, reporting, conflict management, organizational, and computer software skills.
• Ability to complete applicable background, drug screening, and motor vehicle record checks.
