Regional Practice Leader - Watersheds & Stormwater

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Regional Practice Leader to grow its water resources, watershed management, and stormwater planning practice across the southern United States. The preferred location is Texas, with a hybrid or flexible work arrangement potentially available after the first 90 days.

Project Details

The practice supports municipal and utility clients with stormwater, flood mitigation, water quality, watershed, resilience, asset management, and water system planning initiatives. Work may include green infrastructure, coastal resilience, channels, sewer systems, detention facilities, dams, levees, reservoirs, pump stations, erosion control, permitting, and hydraulic and water quality modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development and capture efforts for water resources and stormwater programs.
• Build client relationships across the target geography and expand regional market share.
• Recruit professionals and help develop local delivery teams.
• Lead project execution and serve as Project Manager when needed.
• Collaborate with technical and planning partners to apply new technologies and approaches.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• At least 11 years of related experience, with 15 or more years of water resources planning and design experience preferred.
• Experience pursuing municipal and utility water resources projects and leading teams across a broad geography.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and procedures.
• Professional Engineer registration required.
• Preferred software familiarity includes HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA/XP-SWMM, InfoWorks ICM, EFDC, CFD, ArcGIS, Cityworks, Lucity, and Stormwise (ICPR).
