Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Manager to lead water and wastewater initiatives from its Irvine office. This employee-owner role combines client leadership, project delivery, business development, and team development.

Project Details

The position supports municipal water clients and projects involving water and wastewater treatment, linear infrastructure planning and design, planning and asset management, and related infrastructure needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead marketing, market strategy, proposals, client presentations, budgeting, and contracting efforts.
• Manage client relationships and support municipal business development.
• Oversee engineering managers and project teams while establishing performance goals and monitoring execution.
• Manage project budgets, invoicing, payments, commercial performance, and project reviews.
• Coach and mentor staff and help identify training, promotion, and hiring opportunities.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 15 years of program or project management and related technical experience.
• Experience with water and wastewater treatment, linear infrastructure planning and design, and business development.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable standards.

Compensation and Benefits

The California annual compensation range is $193,787-$329,429. Black & Veatch offers relocation eligibility, hybrid or flexible work options after the first 90 days subject to business conditions, comprehensive health coverage, paid time off, retirement matching, tuition and adoption reimbursement, employee ownership through a 100% ESOP, and potential performance-based bonus eligibility.
