Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Manager to lead water and wastewater infrastructure projects and support the Water/Wastewater business in a high-profile leadership role. This full-time position is based in Des Moines, Iowa, with potential hybrid or flexible work arrangements after 90 days.

Project Details

The role supports multi-million-dollar water-related infrastructure programs, including water and wastewater treatment, linear infrastructure planning and design, asset management, and related municipal and government projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage project cost, schedule, quality, risk, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and third-party activities.
• Staff and lead multidisciplinary project teams while overseeing engineering managers.
• Support budgeting, invoicing, payments, project reviews, performance goals, and implementation.
• Build client relationships and contribute to business development, proposals, market strategy, and contracting.
• Mentor team members and recommend training, promotion, and recruiting opportunities.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10 or more years of program or project management and technical experience preferred.
• Experience with water and wastewater treatment, linear infrastructure planning and design, and asset management preferred.
• Business development and engineering project management experience preferred.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• Knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable standards is preferred.
• Selected candidates may need to complete background, drug-screen, and motor-vehicle-record checks.
