Project Engineering Manager - Water/Wastewater

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead engineering execution for water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Oklahoma City. This employee-owner role supports multidisciplinary teams delivering municipal treatment, conveyance, and sustainability-focused projects.

Project Details

The position covers traditional, design-build, design-bid-build, and collaborative delivery work, including water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, treatment upgrades and expansions, underground conveyance, and carbon-neutral solutions.

Responsibilities

• Direct engineering deliverables, calculations, quality requirements, budgets, schedules, and coordination across multiple disciplines.
• Lead engineers and technicians, review technical work, and serve as the responsible engineering lead for assigned projects.
• Guide equipment and material evaluations and develop solutions for complex treatment projects.
• Manage client communications, project changes, concerns, and support for business development pursuits.
• Mentor staff and contribute to performance and professional development activities.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• At least five years of related professional experience.
• Previous engineering consulting experience and experience with multidisciplinary water and wastewater treatment plant upgrades or expansions are preferred.
• Professional Engineer licensure is preferred.
• Ability to complete applicable background, drug-screen, and motor vehicle checks.

Compensation and Benefits

The full-time employee-owner position may offer hybrid or flexible work arrangements after the first 90 days, subject to business and performance considerations.
