Project Electrical Engineer Power Generation

Job Summary

Black & Veatch — a 100% employee-owned engineering and construction firm with over 100 years of experience — is seeking a Project Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Generation. Based in Overland Park, Kansas, this role operates with minimal supervision on complex electrical engineering work across power generation projects, with hybrid work options available after 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver complex electrical engineering calculations, designs, and documentation for power generation projects.
• Apply advanced engineering techniques and independently manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and review their work.
• Coordinate across internal and external project disciplines on moderately complex projects.
• Lead production teams, coordinate multi-discipline activities, and serve as responsible charge on projects as needed.
• Support research and recommendations for equipment and materials selection.
• Contribute to business development and client support activities as appropriate.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 5 years of related electrical engineering experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment screening including background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
