Project Director - Water/Wastewater

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Director to lead business development, client engagement, and delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects from its Memphis team.

Project Details

The role supports municipal and government infrastructure programs, with responsibility for water-related projects valued in the multimillion-dollar range, including water supply, wastewater, and water reclamation work.

Responsibilities

• Develop market strategies, identify prospects, prepare proposals, support presentations, and help secure contracts.
• Manage client relationships and contribute to market, account, and business planning.
• Oversee engineering managers, establish project performance objectives, and guide execution with internal teams and owner representatives.
• Support project budgeting, invoicing, payment administration, commercial management, and performance reviews.
• Mentor team members and recommend training, promotions, and recruiting priorities.

Required Experience

• At least 15 years of business development and project management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical discipline.
• Professional Engineering License preferred.
• Strong knowledge of water and wastewater markets, contracting, pricing, risk, budgets, and financial metrics.
• Excellent communication, proposal, presentation, negotiation, leadership, and client relationship skills.
