Project Director - Water/Wastewater

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Director to lead water and wastewater market growth, client development, project oversight, and team leadership from its Greenwood Village, Colorado office.

Project Details

The role supports civil engineering, procurement, consulting, and construction solutions for municipalities, utilities, and government clients across the water and wastewater sector.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients.
• Develop business growth strategies, identify opportunities, and pursue new clients and market share.
• Oversee projects and Engineering Managers across the company's water and wastewater capabilities.
• Lead marketing, proposals, client presentations, budgeting, contracting, and project staffing.
• Represent the company through industry associations, client workshops, presentations, and community activities.
• Manage project teams and support broader business and market initiatives.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 20+ years of business development and project management experience, including water and wastewater technical engineering.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater markets, business development, contracts, budgets, financial metrics, and project delivery.
• Strong sales, negotiation, communication, presentation, strategic planning, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to travel to client sites and work effectively with diverse teams and shifting priorities.

Compensation and Benefits

Colorado salary range is $185,261-$315,106. Flexible work options may be available after the first 90 days, and eligible employees may receive a performance-based bonus.
