Project Director - Industrial Water

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Director to lead industrial water and wastewater initiatives, develop client relationships, and guide project teams from pursuit through delivery. This full-time role is based in Greenwood Village, Colorado, with employee-ownership, hybrid flexibility after 90 days at management discretion, and no relocation eligibility.

Project Details

The Industrial Water team delivers lifecycle water, wastewater, and stormwater solutions for heavy commercial and industrial clients, with an emphasis on sustainability, resilience, regulatory compliance, schedule, and cost performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead market development, pursuit strategy, proposals, client presentations, budgeting, and contracting.
• Manage client engagement and support market, account, and business planning.
• Oversee engineering managers, project teams, performance goals, budgets, invoicing, payments, and project reviews.
• Coordinate with owners and internal teams during project execution.
• Mentor staff and recommend training, promotions, and team expansion.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
• 20 or more years of water and wastewater experience with demonstrated industrial-sector leadership preferred.
• Professional Engineering license and a technical bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of budgets, financial metrics, contract terms, risk, pricing, and payment conditions.
• Ability to complete applicable background, drug-screen, and motor-vehicle-record checks if selected.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual compensation is $185,361-$315,106. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, wellness programs, paid time off, holidays, sick leave, a company-matched 401(k), employee stock ownership, and potential performance-based bonus eligibility.
