Pipe Superintendent - Nights

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Pipe Superintendent to lead nighttime pipe construction activities on an industrial combined-cycle project in Newnan, Georgia. The role coordinates field supervision, craft labor, subcontractors, safety, quality, schedule, and productivity.

Project Details

This staff position supports a combined-cycle construction project and requires mobilization to the Newnan site for the duration of the project. Union construction and labor-relations experience are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct pipe discipline foremen, general foremen, subcontractors, superintendents, and field engineers.
• Monitor construction progress, productivity, costs, installed quantities, punch-list completion, and CPM schedule activities.
• Develop and track three-week look-ahead schedules, corrective action plans, work packages, and job hazard analyses.
• Coordinate daily and weekly work plans with other disciplines and the Construction Manager.
• Resolve field issues involving drawings, materials, resources, quality, safety, labor, and subcontractor performance.
• Lead foreman and subcontractor planning meetings and maintain daily site records.
• Support union-interface activities, labor-agreement compliance, safety programs, quality standards, and continuous improvement.
• Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management for direct reports.

Required Experience

• At least 8 years of experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager on equivalent projects.
• Pipe Superintendent experience on combined-cycle construction projects is strongly preferred.
• Union or union-management experience, knowledge of labor agreements, and familiarity with jurisdictional issues are preferred.
• Construction Management or Engineering degree is preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification and a valid driver's license are required.
• Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts outdoors and in physically demanding construction-site conditions.
