Millwright Superintendent - Conventional Generation

Job Summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a Millwright Superintendent to direct field execution, craft productivity, subcontractor performance, safety, quality, and schedule compliance on conventional power-generation construction projects. This traveling field position provides work direction to foremen, general foremen, subcontractors, and construction engineers.

Project Details

The role supports industrial conventional-generation work, including simple-cycle and combined-cycle construction. Responsibilities cover equipment installation, erection work packages, schedule execution, and coordination across construction disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction progress, productivity, costs, installed quantities, and compliance with the CPM schedule.
• Lead foreman and subcontractor planning meetings and maintain three-week look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and other resources required for planned work.
• Resolve drawing, technical, quality, safety, schedule, and field execution issues.
• Review timesheets, quantity reports, payment requests, supplier logs, and punch-list completion.
• Coordinate daily and weekly work plans with other superintendents and the Construction Manager.
• Administer work packages, develop job hazard analyses, identify out-of-scope work, and support recovery efforts.
• Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management for direct reports.

Required Experience

• At least five years of construction field leadership experience on equivalent projects.
• Experience with simple-cycle or combined-cycle construction is preferred.
• Construction Management or Engineering degree and training in cost control, scheduling, construction management, or contract administration are preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification and a valid driver's license are required.
• Knowledge of subcontract administration, labor productivity systems, construction safety, risk management, and industrial relations is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at height, climb ladders and scaffolds, and perform extended physical work in changing weather conditions.
