Lead Wastewater Process Engineer

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Lead Wastewater Process Engineer to provide advanced technical leadership for wastewater reclamation and treatment projects. This role supports infrastructure programs across government, environmental, energy, process, commercial, and industrial markets.

Project Details

The Global Process Engineering team delivers solutions for wastewater, water, industrial, and other critical infrastructure programs, supporting projects from planning and design through construction, startup, commissioning, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical advisor to project teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support business development through pursuit strategy, proposals, interviews, and technical messaging.
• Provide engineering guidance and develop tailored wastewater treatment solutions.
• Promote quality, continuous improvement, change management, and risk management.
• Mentor, supervise, recruit, and develop engineering staff.
• Contribute to project execution, safety performance, innovation, and technology leadership.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• At least 11 years of related professional experience.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles, applicable standards, and discipline-specific design guides.
• Professional registration or licensure in the applicable home-office country, or active pursuit of that registration, may be required.
• Strong communication, planning, delegation, prioritization, team-building, and conflict-management skills.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, employee-owner position with health, dental, vision, disability, wellness, paid leave, retirement matching, tuition reimbursement, and other benefits. A performance-based bonus may be available, and the position is not eligible for relocation assistance. Hybrid or flexible work may be offered after the first 90 days at management discretion.
