Harriman Boilermaker Superintendent Nightshift 1

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Boilermaker Superintendent to lead night-shift field execution for a union construction project in Harriman, Tennessee. The role coordinates craft supervision, subcontractors, field engineering, safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance.

Project Details

The assignment is based at the Harriman project site for its duration, with onboarding at Black & Veatch headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas. This union project requires familiarity with labor agreements and local union coordination.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate general foremen, foremen, subcontractor supervision, and field engineers.
• Monitor construction progress, productivity, costs, installed quantities, materials, manpower, and schedule compliance.
• Prepare and track three-week look-ahead schedules, corrective action plans, punch lists, daily logs, work packages, and job hazard analyses.
• Lead planning meetings and coordinate daily and weekly work plans with other discipline superintendents and the Construction Manager.
• Resolve field issues involving drawings, quality, safety, scope, labor, and subcontractor performance.
• Coordinate with local union representatives and help maintain uninterrupted workflow at union interface points.
• Support reporting, change authorization, contractor information requests, commercial recovery, and workforce development.
• Serve as acting Construction Manager when requested and mentor other discipline superintendents.

Required Experience

• At least 8 years of experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager on equivalent projects.
• Boilermaker superintendent experience in union or union-management environments is strongly preferred.
• Construction Management or Engineering degree preferred.
• Knowledge of union agreements, jurisdictional issues, construction safety, cost control, productivity systems, contracts, and project scheduling preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• OSHA 10 certification required.
• Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts, perform physically demanding site work, climb steel framework, ladders, and scaffolds, and work in confined spaces and varying weather conditions.
