Graduate Engineer, Structural Water (Overland Park)

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a full-time, entry-level Structural Engineer to support water infrastructure projects from its Overland Park, Kansas location. The role is intended for a recent engineering graduate and offers opportunities for professional development within an employee-owned organization.

Project Details

Work will support structural engineering activities for water-related infrastructure, including engineering analysis, design documentation, studies, and project deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Prepare basic calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and limited-scope studies.
• Research equipment and materials and develop routine recommendations.
• Collect, organize, and manage technical data for engineering assignments.
• Coordinate with project teams and contribute to client support or pursuit activities as directed.
• Apply applicable design standards, engineering codes, quality procedures, and schedule requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and technology initiatives.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Basic understanding of structural engineering principles, design standards, construction, and constructability practices.
• Ability to complete applicable pre-employment screening requirements.
