Graduate Engineer, Structural Transmission Line (East Region)

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is hiring an entry-level structural transmission line engineer for its East Region engineering team. The position is intended for a recent engineering graduate and offers employee ownership, professional development, and work on critical infrastructure projects. Candidates will be based in or relocate to Raleigh, North Carolina, or Orlando, Florida.

Project Details

The role supports structural transmission line engineering and related infrastructure work, including engineering studies, design documentation, equipment and materials evaluation, calculations, and constructability considerations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare basic engineering calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and limited-scope studies.
• Collect, organize, and manage technical data for engineering assignments.
• Research equipment and material options and develop recommendations.
• Apply applicable design standards, engineering codes, company procedures, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with project teams and support client or business development activities as directed.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Basic understanding of engineering design principles, industry trends, quality programs, and construction or constructability practices.
• Strong learning, problem-solving, written communication, listening, and collaboration skills.
• Successful completion of applicable pre-employment screening may be required.
