Graduate Engineer, Structural Federal (Kansas City)

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a full-time entry-level structural engineer for its Federal practice in Overland Park, Kansas. The role is intended for a recent engineering graduate supporting projects for U.S. Government clients and offers relocation eligibility.

Project Details

Work will support structural engineering assignments for federal agency and department clients, with exposure to engineering design, construction coordination, and infrastructure delivery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare basic calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and limited-scope studies.
• Research equipment and material options and organize technical project data.
• Apply applicable design standards, engineering codes, internal procedures, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with project teams and contribute to client support, pursuits, and continuous improvement activities.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• U.S. citizenship is required because the position serves U.S. Government clients.
• Basic understanding of engineering design principles, industry practices, construction methods, and constructability.
• Selected candidates must complete applicable pre-employment screening, which may include background, drug, and motor vehicle checks.
