Job Summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a Carpenter Foreman to supervise crews performing concrete formwork, reinforcing steel, embeds, anchor bolts, and related structural work on a solar construction project in Mulberry, Florida.

Project Details

This is a full-time, non-union craft position on an outdoor solar construction site with exposure to varying weather, temperatures, noise, and active construction equipment.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily work for carpenters, concrete finishers, rod busters, and other craft workers.
• Plan crew activities, develop short-term schedules, coordinate materials and equipment, and track labor and production.
• Lead pre-job planning, toolbox meetings, safety training, incident reporting, and lockout/tagout compliance.
• Coordinate work with other trades and communicate plans, schedule needs, and safety concerns to project supervision.
• Inspect work for compliance with plans, specifications, codes, quality requirements, and proper construction procedures.
• Verify equipment condition and daily inspection completion, provide on-the-job training, and complete craft performance reviews.

Required Experience

• Prior journeyman experience as a carpenter, concrete finisher, reinforcing ironworker, or similar civil/concrete craft.
• Experience supervising crews and erecting concrete structures.
• Working knowledge of auto-levels, transits, finished-grade verification, steel-framed forms, rebar fabrication and tying, and concrete placement, finishing, and sealing.
• Ability to read project plans, specifications, and schedules and uphold safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Required tools for the industrial carpenter trade and ability to complete applicable pre-employment screening and onboarding requirements.
• Preferred credentials include NCCER Concrete Finishing, NCCER Carpenter, NCCER Reinforcing Ironwork, NCCER Rigger, NCCER Scaffolding, NCCER Fundamentals of Crew Leadership, NCCER Project Supervision, or NCCER Project Management.
