Engineering Project Manager BESS + Solar

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams delivering solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage system projects.

Project Details

The role supports Solar + BESS engineering, construction support, and EPC assignments, including design development, equipment and material specifications, commissioning support, and related project services.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams and coordinate deliverables across multiple disciplines.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, quality requirements, and engineering costs.
• Develop engineering calculations, equipment recommendations, and technical solutions.
• Coordinate with clients, support proposals and business development, and address project changes.
• Review engineering work and provide technical leadership for complex Solar + BESS projects.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• At least 8 years of related experience, including 5 or more years designing solar PV and/or BESS facilities.
• Professional Engineer license highly preferred.
• Knowledge of project development, siting, permitting, feasibility studies, FEED, energy production estimates, and Power Purchase Agreements.
• Understanding of civil/structural, electrical/controls, procurement, construction, contract administration, and testing and commissioning.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual compensation is $148,852-$248,578. Relocation assistance is available, and hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days.
