Electrical Superintendent - Subcontract Oversight

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Electrical Superintendent to oversee electrical construction execution and subcontractor performance on a conventional power project in Harriman, Tennessee.

Project Details

This full-time staff role requires mobilization to the project site for the duration of the work. The position supports industrial power construction and may involve union project interfaces, direct-hire crews, major subcontractors, and field engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Direct and monitor electrical craft supervision, foremen, subcontractors, and field engineers.
• Track schedule progress, productivity, installed quantities, costs, quality, safety, and commodity completion.
• Lead planning meetings, maintain three-week look-ahead schedules, and develop recovery plans when targets are at risk.
• Coordinate work packages, equipment installation, material and manpower needs, punch lists, timesheets, progress requests, and daily site records.
• Resolve drawing, technical, schedule, quality, and field execution issues with construction management and engineering teams.
• Monitor subcontract compliance, identify out-of-scope work and potential back charges, and support commercial recovery activities.
• Prepare job hazard analyses for major erection packages and reinforce company safety, quality, ethical, and performance standards.
• Support union agreement compliance and maintain effective relationships with local union representatives where applicable.
• Provide work direction, training, development, and performance management for assigned personnel.

Required Experience

• At least 8 years of experience as a superintendent or construction manager on equivalent projects.
• Electrical superintendent experience on conventional power construction projects is strongly preferred.
• Union or union-management experience is strongly preferred, including knowledge of local agreements and jurisdictional matters.
• Construction management or engineering degree preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification and a valid driver's license required.
• Ability to work safely in active construction environments, including elevated, confined, uneven, and weather-exposed areas.
