Electrical Project Engineer Substation QAQC

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to support quality assurance and quality control for high-voltage substation engineering projects in Dallas. This full-time role works within the substation quality management group and offers potential hybrid or flexible work arrangements after the first 90 days.

Project Details

The position supports substation design and integration work across physical design and protection and control disciplines, with related applications including renewables, HVDC, FACTS, STATCOM, data centers, and battery energy storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Review substation design packages for quality, compliance, and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Prepare engineering deliverables, calculations, equipment recommendations, schedules, budgets, and quality documentation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, clients, project managers, and internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance, review engineering work, delegate tasks, and mentor less experienced professionals.
• Support client-development activities and help address technical and project requirements for high-voltage substation work.
• Help implement company procedures, quality programs, corporate initiatives, and administrative processes.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• At least five years of related professional experience.
• Experience with substation QA/QC reviews and physical design or protection and controls design.
• Experience coordinating with clients, multidisciplinary leads, and project managers.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
