Distribution Project Manager

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Distribution Project Manager to oversee utility distribution engineering services, programs, and EPC-related work. This employee-owner role supports electric utility clients and coordinates delivery across engineering, operations, and business teams.

Project Details

The position supports a nationwide portfolio of electric distribution projects, utility capital programs, and EPC assignments for investor-owned utilities and other clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, quality objectives, risks, and client outcomes.
• Act as the primary client contact, lead meetings and reporting, and coordinate decisions, changes, and issue resolution.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams and coordinate staffing, resource planning, delivery strategy, and contractor support.
• Monitor client satisfaction, strengthen ongoing relationships, and support proposals and business development.
• Mentor developing project management staff and help improve scalable delivery practices.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of progressive project management experience involving electric utilities, distribution, EPC, or infrastructure.
• Experience with client-facing projects, cross-functional engineering teams, utility capital programs, or investor-owned utility clients is preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, collaboration, ownership, and client relationship skills.
• PMP certification is preferred.
• Ability to complete applicable background, drug-screen, and motor-vehicle-record checks.

The role is full-time and relocation eligible, with potential hybrid or flexible work after the first 90 days.
