Data Center Project Director

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Data Center Project Director to lead medium and large data center development and detailed design projects from initiation through commissioning and operations.

Project Details

The role supports technology-focused infrastructure programs, including data center site development and advanced cooling systems such as direct-to-chip liquid cooling and immersion cooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Manage project cost, schedule, quality, safety, contractual compliance, financial performance, and client satisfaction.
• Oversee project staffing, risk management, change control, constructability, procurement, and warranty planning.
• Maintain client and industry relationships, support contract negotiations, and pursue repeat and new business.
• Direct project execution across multiple clients or complex EPC assignments.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 9 years of related experience.
• Demonstrated project delivery experience spanning analysis, design, construction, commissioning, and operations.
• Experience managing budgets, contracts, project risks, schedules, quality, safety, and multidisciplinary professionals.
• Ability to travel to client sites and work with internal and external teams using virtual collaboration tools.

Compensation and Benefits

Published annual compensation ranges vary by jurisdiction: $190,489-$323,830 in California and $161,183-$274,010 in Colorado.
