Construction Manager - Nights

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Construction Manager to lead nighttime field construction activities on an industrial power project in Newnan, Georgia. The role coordinates site execution with the Project Field Manager and oversees safety, quality, schedule, cost, subcontractors, and construction staff.

Project Details

The assignment supports a combined-cycle construction project and requires mobilization to the Newnan site for the full project duration. Union or union-management experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct subcontractor activities and supervise superintendents in accordance with the construction execution plan and CPM schedule.
• Track productivity, schedule performance, budget, equipment, overtime, change management, and subcontractor progress.
• Lead coordination meetings, schedule recovery efforts, completion walkdowns, punch-list closeout, and startup package handoff.
• Coordinate with field controls, engineering, materials, safety, quality, client, and startup teams.
• Serve as the site safety representative when the regular Safety Supervisor is absent and resolve safety and quality issues.
• Support continuous improvement, dispute resolution, reporting, and Project Field Manager coverage as needed.

Required Experience

• 14 or more years of construction supervisory experience, including at least 3 years as a Construction Manager.
• Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant field experience.
• OSHA training is required.
• Combined-cycle or other power construction, EPC, constructability, project controls, risk management, leadership, and construction project management experience are preferred.
• Ability to work safely in outdoor, confined, elevated, noisy, and variable-weather construction environments, including shifts of up to 12 hours.
