Construction Manager - Battery Storage - Georgia

Job Summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a field-based Construction Manager to support delivery of a utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System project in Newnan, Georgia. The role partners with the Project Field Manager and project stakeholders to achieve safe, timely, cost-effective, and high-quality construction outcomes.

Project Details

The position supports Battery Energy Storage System and substation construction, including utility-scale energy infrastructure and related electrical work. Travel to project sites is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site construction methods, staffing, equipment, materials, and field resources.
• Support schedule execution, productivity tracking, cost reporting, quality programs, and corrective action planning.
• Partner with EH&S teams on safety programs, job hazard analyses, craft training, and certification initiatives.
• Lead or participate in constructability and risk reviews, identifying construction risks and mitigation measures.
• Resolve field issues involving drawings, information flow, quantities, schedule, quality, cost, and safety.
• Review timesheets, installed quantities, progress payment requests, potential back charges, and out-of-scope work.
• Coordinate with clients and subcontractors while supervising, coaching, developing, and managing direct reports.
• Support proposals through staffing plans, equipment requirements, and direct and indirect cost information.

Required Experience

• At least 10 years of construction supervisory experience is required; 14 or more years is preferred.
• Experience with substation, Battery Energy Storage System, utility-scale energy, electrical infrastructure, or related construction is preferred.
• A bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred, with relevant field experience considered.
• OSHA training is required.
• Knowledge of project controls, budgets, risk management, construction management systems, and field leadership is preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish-speaking ability and outage planning experience are preferred.
• Ability to complete applicable background, drug screening, and motor vehicle record requirements.
• Ability to perform physically demanding construction work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, working at heights, and working outdoors in variable conditions and shifts of up to 12 hours.
