Job Summary

Overland Contracting Inc (a Black & Veatch company) is hiring a Structural Superintendent to lead field execution on a Simple Cycle power generation project in Beech Island, South Carolina. The role drives structural scope delivery by directing direct-hire craft, general foremen, foremen, subcontractor superintendents, and construction engineers to meet safety, quality, schedule, and cost targets.

Project Details

Simple Cycle combustion turbine construction project at the Beech Island, SC site, with scope spanning structural erection, equipment installation, and subcontractor coordination across a large industrial power facility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, verify, and report construction activities for compliance with the CPM schedule; track commodity installation progress.
• Develop and maintain a 3-Week Look Ahead Schedule for assigned structural scope; resolve resource gaps before they affect productivity.
• Conduct daily and weekly foreman and subcontractor planning meetings; develop corrective plans when progress or productivity targets slip.
• Review craft and subcontractor timesheets, installed quantity reports, and progress payment requests.
• Develop and distribute Job Hazard Analyses for major erection packages.
• Identify potential backcharges and out-of-scope issues; support commercial recovery and extra work authorization requests.
• Maintain a daily site log; coordinate work plans with other discipline superintendents and the Construction Manager.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with subcontract scope, schedule, and safety requirements.
• Provide supervision, training, and performance management to direct reports.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of construction field leadership on equivalent industrial or power generation projects.
• Simple Cycle and Combined Cycle construction experience preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Construction Management or Engineering degree preferred.
• Strong skills in CPM scheduling, cost control, subcontract administration, and multi-discipline coordination.
