Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to support water and wastewater infrastructure projects from its Cary, North Carolina office. The role provides opportunities to expand technical expertise while contributing to multidisciplinary engineering work.

Project Details

The position supports water and wastewater design and construction services, including electrical systems for treatment and infrastructure facilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical engineering designs, calculations, specifications, schematics, one-line diagrams, power plans, lighting plans, and installation details.
• Perform energy optimization, power coordination, arc-flash, and electrical reliability studies using applicable analysis methods and software.
• Coordinate with regional, global, internal, external, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support construction inspections and help resolve electrical field issues.
• Manage assigned engineering data and deliverables in accordance with project budget, schedule, quality, and applicable codes.
• Mentor entry-level professionals and interns as experience develops.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program; an electrical engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program is preferred.
• At least one year of related experience is required; three or more years of electrical design, planning, and construction services experience in water/wastewater is preferred.
• Experience with consulting and water/wastewater projects is preferred.
• Power system analysis experience using SKM, ETAP, or comparable software is preferred.
• Engineer-in-Training certification and progress toward a Professional Engineer license are preferred.
