Job Summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a Solar Leadman to support field installation and coordination for photovoltaic construction work in Mulberry, Florida. This non-union, full-time role combines hands-on solar installation with developing crew leadership responsibilities.

Project Details

The work involves ground- or roof-mounted solar photovoltaic systems, including electrical, mechanical, structural, and civil installation activities.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, assemble, and install solar modules, panels, support structures, labels, and related hardware.
• Use hand and power tools while following drawings, specifications, codes, and installation standards.
• Identify installation deficiencies, inspect completed work, and take corrective action.
• Coordinate with other crafts and crew members, provide mentoring, and support daily production planning.
• Participate in pre-job planning, safety discussions, hazard correction, incident reporting, and stop-work procedures when needed.
• Maintain clean work areas and perform physically demanding construction tasks in outdoor and variable conditions.

Required Experience

• At least two years of solar installation experience or an equivalent combination of construction education and experience.
• Working knowledge of photovoltaic system assembly, installation, or maintenance.
• Ability to follow directions, read plans and specifications, perform basic math, and coordinate work with other crafts.
• Must be at least 18 years old and provide the tools required for solar installer work.
• Preferred or applicable craft credentials include NCCER Solar Photovoltaic Installer, NCCER Electrician, NCCER Concrete Finishing, NCCER Carpenter, and NCCER Ironworker.
