Traveling Project Manager - Utility Scale Renewable Energy

Job Summary

Barton Malow is hiring a Traveling Project Manager to lead utility-scale renewable energy construction assignments, with primary reporting locations in Michigan and field placement throughout the Great Lakes Region.

Project Details

The role supports solar projects and requires regular on-site work at assigned utility-scale renewable energy sites across the region.

Responsibilities

• Direct project execution across quality, safety, compliance, schedule, budget, and resource planning.
• Coordinate company staff, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, designers, and client representatives.
• Review estimates, proposals, submittals, plans, specifications, and project controls.
• Support reporting, material procurement, turnover documentation, O&M manuals, and construction-period services.
• Lead and develop project personnel while maintaining client satisfaction and contractual performance.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Five to eight years of relevant professional construction experience.
• Solar or wind project experience is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading construction staff, subcontractors, and engineering or design teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, multitasking, and independent problem-solving skills.
• OSHA 30-hour training is preferred, along with a proactive commitment to safety.
• Ability to travel regularly and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
