Sr. Project Engineer - Commercial Construction

Job Summary

Barton Malow Builders is hiring a Senior Project Engineer to support commercial construction operations in Charleston and across South Carolina. The role works with project managers, superintendents, design professionals, owners, and trade partners to keep projects safe, organized, and on track.

Project Details

The position supports high-profile, fast-paced commercial construction projects throughout South Carolina, including coordination across multiple municipal jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and coordinate issue resolution with project stakeholders.
• Track submittals and RFIs, support plan reviews, and maintain project records.
• Prepare meeting materials, document coordination discussions, and assist with project meetings.
• Support site logistics, trade partner coordination, schedule updates, change evaluations, and change orders.
• Assist with closeout documentation and project turnover.
• Promote company safety policies and a proactive jobsite safety culture.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• At least three years of professional construction or related industry experience, including internships.
• Strong organization, communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• VDC/BIM experience is a plus.
