Job Summary

Barton Malow Builders is seeking a Construction Superintendent to support education-sector projects in Waverly, Michigan. This role leads field coordination and helps deliver work that meets project plans, specifications, schedule, and quality expectations.

The position supports Barton Malow's education group and involves coordinating contractors and trade partners on active construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare bid scopes, front-end documents, bidder communications, and post-bid interviews.
• Enforce jobsite safety requirements, including pre-task planning and field compliance.
• Organize and direct daily site labor and coordinate contractor sequencing.
• Support project budget tracking, forecasting, cost control, and change monitoring.
• Develop site logistics plans that support productivity and reduce disruption to building occupants.

Required Experience

• At least five years of direct project and trade supervision experience.
• Four-year technical or engineering degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and contractor coordination skills.
• Knowledge of construction methods, performance standards, environmental requirements, and workplace safety.
• Education-sector construction experience is preferred.
