Job Summary

Barton Malow is seeking a Superintendent to lead field execution for a battery energy storage system project in Newport, Michigan. The role oversees site performance, trade coordination, safety, scheduling, and delivery in partnership with the project management team.

Project Details

This is an industrial battery energy storage project requiring full-time commitment at the Newport project site and openness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily site labor, subcontractors, trade partners, and work sequencing.
• Enforce company safety requirements, including pre-task planning and field compliance.
• Support bid development, contractor selection, scope definition, and post-bid discussions.
• Assist with cost control, forecasting, change monitoring, logistics planning, and site productivity.
• Develop the baseline schedule, lead pull-planning sessions, and issue six-week look-ahead updates.
• Report site conditions, progress, performance, and emerging issues to project managers and field leadership.
• Maintain productive relationships with clients, subcontractors, team members, and authorities while resolving field conflicts.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering.
• At least 8 years of relevant industrial and energy construction experience.
• Strong understanding of contracts, legal provisions, trade partner management, and project delivery practices.
• Excellent organization, communication, diplomacy, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to change, and maintain quality and customer relationships.
