Job Summary

Barton Malow is seeking a full-time, on-site Project Engineer to support security and electrical work on a mission-critical secure facility near Philadelphia.

Project Details

The role covers electronic security and low-voltage systems, including access control, closed-circuit television, intrusion detection, device power, conduit, pathways, and rough-in infrastructure. The position coordinates closely with the security integrator, electrical and information technology teams, structural trades, owner security representatives, and design partners.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate security device layouts with electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, power requirements, and backup power provisions.
• Verify conduit routing, sleeves, penetrations, boxes, backing, and other rough-in conditions before concrete placement or wall closure.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, device logs, procurement tracking, and long-lead equipment coordination.
• Support system architecture discussions, startup, testing, commissioning, point-to-point verification, and issue resolution.
• Maintain drawing revisions, document control, as-built markups, meeting records, and subcontractor follow-up.
• Assist with closeout materials, including operating and maintenance manuals, warranties, training records, and final as-builts.
• Protect controlled project information and follow owner confidentiality, drawing distribution, and site security procedures.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, electrical engineering, electrical technology, or a related field, or equivalent field experience.
• Working knowledge of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to interpret one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and conduit and pathway designs.
• Experience with construction management platforms, document control systems, drawing markup tools, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organization, communication, field verification, and coordination skills.
• Ability to meet owner site-access, background-screening, and confidentiality requirements.
