Project Manager (Battery Energy Storage Systems)

Job Summary

Barton Malow is seeking a Project Manager to lead delivery of a battery energy storage system project in Monroe, Michigan. The role directs project execution with the client, field team, trade partners, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Project Details

This position supports an industrial battery energy storage project and requires full-time work at the project site, with openness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Set project objectives and lead the project team through planning and execution.
• Manage scope, budget, cost forecasting, schedule, procurement, logistics, quality, safety, risk, and project controls.
• Support bid preparation, contractor selection, subcontractor and vendor contract administration, and change management.
• Maintain the baseline schedule, monitor progress, address constraints, and develop recovery plans when needed.
• Coordinate field activities with the Superintendent and ensure site work aligns with contract requirements and project logistics.
• Lead owner, subcontractor, and internal meetings while tracking decisions, commitments, and action items.
• Maintain relationships with the client, design team, vendors, authorities, and other project stakeholders.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant industrial construction and energy experience managing complex projects.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, delivery methods, commercial terms, procurement, project controls, and change management.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, decision-making, communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
