Project Engineer 2

Job Summary

Barton Malow is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer 2 to support field execution on automotive manufacturing projects. This traveling position works alongside superintendents, field crews, and project teams at active sites across the region.

Project Details

The role supports large-scale automotive manufacturing construction, including projects in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, and Tennessee. Assignments may change as projects begin and finish; Southfield, Michigan, is listed only as the company headquarters and application location.

Responsibilities

• Support daily field operations, construction sequencing, site logistics, and installation planning.
• Conduct site walks, document progress, identify issues, and assist with quality and safety activities.
• Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, correspondence, drawings, specifications, and closeout records.
• Maintain quantity, productivity, material, and equipment tracking logs.
• Participate in project meetings, document action items, and coordinate execution plans with field teams.
• Follow corporate and site-specific safety requirements while helping mitigate field risks.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related discipline.
• One to three years of relevant construction experience.
• Willingness to travel and relocate among project sites in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, and Tennessee.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong communication, organization, client service, and safety-focused problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction software platforms.
