Job Summary

Barton Malow is seeking an on-site MEP Project Manager to lead the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scope for a mission critical project near Philadelphia.

Project Details

The role supports mission critical construction involving electrical distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, chillers, and air handling equipment. The project manager will coordinate MEP work with civil, structural, architectural, and owner-furnished equipment packages.

Responsibilities

• Manage MEP cost, schedule, procurement, buyout, change management, and trade partner performance.
• Control long-lead equipment procurement, vendor deliverables, submittals, fabrication, testing, and delivery.
• Lead commissioning from Levels 1 through 5, including startup, functional testing, factory acceptance testing, and integrated systems testing.
• Coordinate clash resolution, embeds, sleeves, pathways, equipment pads, and rigging sequences with the project and modeling teams.
• Oversee bidding, scope development, subcontract and purchase order administration, cash flow, general conditions, and project cost controls.
• Maintain relationships with the owner, commissioning agent, vendors, trade partners, and project team while supporting the Superintendent.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent field experience.
• At least five years managing mechanical and electrical scope on mission critical facilities; hyperscale or colocation data center experience is preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, and mechanical cooling.
• Experience carrying projects through Levels 1 through 5 commissioning and integrated systems testing.
• Ability to manage complex contracts, change entitlement, notices, pricing, vendor commitments, and subcontractor performance.
• Excellent organization, communication, conflict resolution, and client relationship skills.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, on-site position at an active construction site near Philadelphia. The work may involve weather, noise, energized equipment areas, uneven terrain, required PPE, and extended or off-hours coverage during commissioning and live testing windows.
