Harrisonburg Superintendent Commercial Construction

Job Summary

Barton Malow is hiring a Construction Superintendent to direct field operations for commercial and institutional projects in Harrisonburg and across the Virginia and Mid-Atlantic region.

Project Details

Projects serve higher education, healthcare, sports and entertainment, and other commercial markets, including complex or occupied facilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct site operations from mobilization through closeout while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, and productivity goals.
• Coordinate subcontractors, sequencing, daily planning, site walks, progress reviews, and issue resolution.
• Develop site logistics plans and support project teams with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, change management, bid packages, and procurement.
• Maintain compliance with contract documents and owner expectations while building relationships with clients, design professionals, and trade partners.

Required Experience

• At least seven years of construction field leadership experience on commercial projects.
• Experience in higher education, healthcare, sports and entertainment, commercial, or institutional construction.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Knowledge of scheduling, construction sequencing, logistics, safety compliance, and quality management.
• Strong communication, stakeholder leadership, problem-solving, conflict-management, and decision-making skills.
