Job Summary

Barton Malow is hiring a Senior Construction Superintendent to direct field operations for complex commercial and institutional projects in Harrisonburg and across Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic.

Project Details

The project portfolio includes higher education, healthcare, sports and entertainment, commercial, and institutional facilities, including work in campus, healthcare, and occupied environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities from mobilization through closeout.
• Maintain jobsite safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance.
• Coordinate subcontractor sequencing, daily operations, planning meetings, site walks, and progress reviews.
• Develop site logistics plans and help project teams manage budgets, forecasts, changes, scopes, and procurement.
• Resolve field issues and maintain productive relationships with owners, designers, consultants, and trade partners.

Required Experience

• At least 10 years of commercial construction field leadership experience.
• Experience in higher education, healthcare, sports and entertainment, commercial, or institutional construction.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Knowledge of scheduling, sequencing, site logistics, safety compliance, and quality management.
• Strong stakeholder communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
