Electrical Construction Manager (Renewable Energy)

Job Summary

Barton Malow Company is hiring an Electrical Construction Manager to lead electrical delivery for utility-scale renewable energy projects, with work based from Michigan offices and across the Great Lakes Region.

Project Details

The role supports solar and wind developments involving utility-scale electrical systems, power distribution, load studies, BIM coordination, quality documentation, and project turnover.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical contractors, subcontractors, company personnel, engineers, and designers while maintaining jobsite safety and compliance.
• Coordinate electrical construction, submittals, design reviews, procurement, budgets, schedules, project controls, and reporting.
• Manage quality requirements, client coordination, technical documentation, turnover dossiers, and operations and maintenance manuals.
• Support estimating, proposals, work planning, staffing, resource allocation, and electrical BIM coordination.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to project personnel and help maintain client satisfaction.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and at least four years in electrical construction, design, or construction management.
• Prior utility-scale electrical systems design and construction experience, including power distribution, calculations, and load studies.
• Experience leading construction staff, subcontractors, engineers, or designers on renewable energy or similar projects.
• Knowledge of QA/QC documentation, turnover processes, electrical drawings, and diagrams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, BIM360, and Bluebeam.
• OSHA 15- or 30-hour certification.
