Construction Safety Manager

Job Summary

Barton Malow Builders is seeking a Construction Safety Manager to support safe, compliant project delivery across the greater Richmond area. This role partners with project teams to strengthen jobsite safety performance and uphold OSHA requirements.

Project Details

The position supports sports and entertainment, healthcare, higher-education, and large-scale commercial construction projects in the Richmond market.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily jobsite safety inspections and audits, address routine hazards, and escalate complex concerns appropriately.
• Implement project safety plans, company procedures, and applicable OSHA standards.
• Lead or support safety orientations, meetings, and project leadership discussions.
• Inspect equipment, tools, vehicles, machinery, and protective systems, including determining appropriate actions for inspected equipment.
• Investigate incidents and prepare related documentation and summaries.

Required Experience

• At least three years of construction safety experience in a comparable position.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• OSHA 510 certification preferred.
• Ability to travel among project sites throughout the greater Richmond area.
