Traveling Project Director- Aviation

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Traveling Project Director to lead aviation construction work nationwide. This senior position provides operational, financial, strategic, and team leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Details

The role supports JE Dunn’s National Aviation Vertical and requires experience managing aviation projects valued at $75 million or more, including multiple large or complex projects and teams.

Responsibilities

• Direct project and work-program execution, strategic planning, staffing, schedules, budgets, and contractual performance.
• Lead safety culture, incident follow-up, risk management, issue resolution, and quality oversight.
• Manage client relationships, subcontractor strategy, preconstruction, estimating, and change-order negotiations.
• Guide project teams, support company initiatives, and represent JE Dunn with clients, industry groups, and community partners.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 15 years of construction management experience preferred and 5 years of people management experience required.
• Demonstrated success leading multiple large or complex projects or teams, including aviation projects valued at $75 million or more.
• Advanced communication, presentation, project management, accounting software, construction technology, Lean, budgeting, estimating, and risk management capabilities.
• Working knowledge of CMiC, MBE, WBE, SBA regulations, and corporate risk policies.
