Traveling General Superintendent- Aviation

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Traveling General Superintendent to lead complex aviation construction work nationwide. The role oversees project execution, field leadership, construction sequencing, and delivery from planning through closeout.

Project Details

The position supports JE Dunn’s national aviation practice and requires leadership of aviation projects valued at $100 million or more, including potentially multiple complex projects and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Direct field operations, subcontractors, suppliers, staff, safety, quality, and project workflow.
• Develop and maintain construction plans, schedules, staffing plans, and work sequencing with project management.
• Lead daily field coordination, trade meetings, owner-architect-contractor meetings, and project reviews.
• Manage site logistics, materials, equipment, self-perform work, documentation, reporting, and timecard approvals.
• Monitor project changes, costs, productivity, quality compliance, and closeout activities.
• Support procurement, buyout, contract administration, recruiting, talent development, and strategic field initiatives.
• Promote an injury-free, inclusive, and collaborative project culture.

Required Experience

• At least 12 years of construction experience and 10 years of field supervision experience.
• Demonstrated leadership of aviation projects valued at $100 million or more.
• Advanced knowledge of construction means and methods, trades, self-perform operations, layout, crane flagging, rigging, and field productivity.
• Intermediate proficiency with scheduling, project management, accounting, and construction technology systems.
• Advanced communication and presentation skills with the ability to lead multiple project teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license required.
