Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Superintendent 1 for its Advanced Facilities Group in Kansas City. The role supports field execution, safety, quality, staffing, scheduling, documentation, and coordination for complex advanced-facility construction work.

JE Dunn’s Advanced Facilities Group delivers large industrial and manufacturing, data center, semiconductor, mission-critical, and advanced-industry projects across the country.

Responsibilities

• Direct subcontractors, suppliers, company personnel, site logistics, workflow, and self-perform activities.
• Lead safety initiatives, investigate incidents, and promote an injury-free project environment.
• Develop and maintain work plans, schedules, staffing plans, quality controls, and project documentation.
• Lead daily and weekly coordination meetings and participate in owner, architect, and project review meetings.
• Manage material and equipment needs, timecard approvals, procurement support, cost tracking, and field reporting.
• Coordinate changes, closeout activities, pre-punch work, and communication with project stakeholders.
• Help recruit talent and promote diversity and inclusion within the project team.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; a construction management, engineering, or related bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• At least 3 years of construction experience, including 1 or more years of field supervision experience.
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, project management and accounting software, construction technology, Lean practices, layout, crane signaling and rigging.
• Intermediate communication, presentation, documentation, trade-scope, self-perform, and labor-productivity skills.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions, with frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and reaching.
