Superintendent 1 - Commercial Construction

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Superintendent 1 to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of commercial construction projects in Nashville. This role manages field operations, project documentation, materials, equipment, and workforce coordination while progressing toward Superintendent 2.

Responsibilities

• Lead site safety, quality, subcontractor coordination, and daily construction activities.
• Develop work plans, manage site logistics, and coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and self-perform operations.
• Maintain schedules, field records, drawings, logs, cost information, and daily reports.
• Lead daily and weekly trade meetings and participate in owner, architect, and project review meetings.
• Support procurement, change management, staffing, project closeout, and pre-punch activities.
• Apply project specifications, quality procedures, scheduling practices, and construction technology to achieve project goals.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; a construction management, engineering, or related bachelor's degree is preferred.
• At least 3 years of construction experience and 1 year of field supervision experience.
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, project management software, accounting systems, layout, crane signaling, rigging, and self-perform operations.
• Intermediate communication, presentation, Microsoft Office, documentation, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and reaching.
